An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team here at Yorkshire Baker. The main purpose of this role is to lead all generalist HR activities to ensure that we provide excellent HR services including conducting ER casework, advising managers on policies, and liaising effectively with our legal partners to ensure we mitigate business risk.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • To provide HR support and advice to all department managers on all HR policies and procedures
  • Lead and support on a variety of HR related projects, keeping engagement at the forefront
  • Manage and take responsibility for all internal health and safety audits
  • Manage the main flow of disciplinaries and grievances effectively and in a timely manner
  • Oversee, mentor and coach the HR Advisors and payroll team to ensure they are delivering effectively in their roles
  • Deputise for the HR Manager in their absence
  • Play an active and important part in the communication and engagement on site, including management training, works council and staff survey
  • Deal with the day-to-day HR queries in an effective and timely manner
  • Manage the occupational health provision for the site, liaising with H&S team, training and occupational nurse
  • Assist stakeholders with performance management processes, including appraisals, administration, and delivery
  • Provide generalist HR support & advice to managers on issues such as maternity, paternity, absence management, payroll, disciplinaries and grievances as well as flexible working

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor, ideally within FMCG
  • CIPD Level 5 or above
  • Experience of managing a team and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to coach and challenge others at all levels
  • Engagement focused with a confidential, calming approach
  • Ability to lead on HR projects and have proven experience within this
