QA Shift Operative
We are looking for a QA Shift Operative, to work at our Lodge Farm Site
Shifts: 4 on 4 off – 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am rotating
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Conduct range of basic, ‘dry’ tests on raw materials and finished products. Investigate any issues that are highlighted by the results of these tests.
- Collection and preparation of raw material and finished product samples for both internal and external testing. Record and distribute results as appropriate.
- To place product on hold when necessary, completing paperwork & following up any corrective actions.
- To raise non-conformances for out of specification product & issuing corrective action & following up.
- To maintain the finished product sample shelves in an orderly manner.
- Check delivery and production paperwork for compliance, report discrepancies and seek corrections.
- Collect finished product samples and grade as part of the quality panel.
- Respond to basic product enquiries and perform tests on samples as part of the complaint’s procedure.
- Carry out routine quality, verification and calibration checks on factory equipment. Recording of results and carrying out any necessary corrective actions.
- Area audits to cover; GMP, CCPs, procedure adherence, batch numbers, PPE, integrity, foreign bodies (this list is not exhaustive).
- Glass and brittle plastic audits; as per required frequency.
- Maintain a log of data collected from in line metal detectors. Carry out investigation of products rejected by the metal detectors and escalate any issues found.
- To check the correct in-line specifications are being used for the product being manufactured.
- To continually monitor & implement good hygiene practice throughout the factory. Ensuring any recurring failures are flagged up to the Production Shift Manager.
- To carry out any additional tasks as assigned by your manager.
Requirements, experience and person specification
- Level 2 H&S awareness.
- Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures.
- Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.
- Basic computer skills.
- Auditing skills.
- High level of literacy and numeracy skills, being able to complete and produce clear and coherent paperwork required for production and technical standards/traceability.
- Works to common goals/objectives with peers.
- Able to foresee changes in demands and act accordingly.
- Communicates effectively to all departments/stakeholders on or off shift.
- Able to resolve matters quickly.
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with team members and other departments/stakeholders.
