We are seeking an experienced and driven QA Manager to lead our Quality Assurance function at Cranswick Convenience Foods – Milton Keynes. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the safety, legality, and quality of our products by embedding strong systems, processes, and a proactive food safety culture throughout the site.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with Cranswick Manufacturing Standards, BRCGS requirements, and retailer Codes of Practice (e.g., Tesco, M&S).

  • Investigate and close out non-conformances through root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventative actions.

  • Champion continuous improvement in food safety, legality, and quality compliance.

  • Actively contribute to and promote a positive Food Safety Culture across the site.

  • Represent the site during customer visits and third-party audits, ensuring we are audit-ready every day.

  • Partner with Operations and Technical teams to drive complaint and non-conformance reduction.

  • Conduct internal audits and support site compliance performance.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing QA team through effective goal setting, coaching, and reviews.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Qualification in food science or technology (minimum HNC, ideally degree-level).

  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, food legislation, allergen and Listeria management.

  • Experience in a Senior QA or Compliance role within food manufacturing.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable (but trainable) Qualifications:

  • HACCP Level 4

  • Food Safety Level 4

  • Listeria Level 4

  • Lead Auditor Certification
