Purchase Ledger Administrator

An exciting opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Administrator has arisen in the onsite Finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth processing of meat and packaging invoices within our purchase ledger function.
This is a full-time office based role, between Monday to Friday with working hours 8:30am to 5:00pm (40 hours a week) but reduced hours can be considered for the right candidate.
Job requirements of Purchase Ledger Administrator:
- Check bought in meat weights received to supplier delivery notes in line with individual terms and communicating discrepancies to suppliers are necessary.
- Maintenance of the weekly bought in meat spreadsheet
- Processing meat invoices including nominal coding, matching invoices with delivery paperwork
- Match all packaging invoices with the relevant proof of delivery and purchase order.
- Investigating invoice issues directly with suppliers requesting and process credit notes where applicable
- Ensure all invoices approved electronically by the relevant manager and Finance Manager to approved timescales
- Responsible for ensuring meat suppliers are paid to term
- Weekly payment run for key meat suppliers
- Complete monthly reconciliations of packaging and meat supplier statements
- Ensure that allocated balances on the purchase ledger are regularly reviewed and any unreconciled or ageing balances are investigated and resolved as directed by the Finance Manager.
- Maintain allocated supplier records and set up new suppliers as required following the Group financial procedures.
- Provide an element of holiday cover for the remainder of the Purchase ledger
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the Finance Manager
What you will need:
- Experience working within a busy finance department (purchase ledger an advantage)
- Ability to work effectively to tight timescales
- Flexible and always willing to do whatever is necessary to get the work done
- Personable, with the ability to work well with different personalities
Pay and benefits:
- Salary – £28,000 Per Anum
