Location: Fridaythorpe or Elsham Mill (East Yorkshire - Driffield / North Lincolnshire - Brigg)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with flexibility required

About the Role

Cranswick is seeking a driven and experienced Production Manager to join the site management team at Fridaythorpe or Elsham Mill. This is a critical leadership role within our milling operations, supporting the continued growth and excellence of our feed production facilities.

You will lead a well-established team, ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant production of high-quality feed delivered to our farms. If you have a proven track record in production leadership, a passion for continual improvement, and a focus on developing people, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the feed mill and operational staff
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and feed safety regulations
  • Plan and manage raw material intake, production scheduling, and transport logistics to meet on-farm demand
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and support lean operational principles
  • Coordinate and manage site-based projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Promote a positive team environment with a strong focus on training and staff development
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including farms, transport, and procurement, to meet operational goals
  • Support quality control processes and ensure all output meets Cranswick and regulatory standards

About You

  • Proven experience in a Production or Operations Management role, ideally in agriculture, milling, feed, or food production
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to solve problems effectively
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • A passion for team development and continuous improvement
  • Good understanding of HSE and quality standards relevant to manufacturing or feed production
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional site leadership team
  • Full UK Driving Licence required (due to potential travel between sites)
