Pro­duc­tion Line Tech­ni­cian (Slic­ing Nights)

Shift Pattern: Nights Wednesday – Friday (one Saturday in 2)

Working Hours: 17.45pm to 06.15am

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Line Technician to join our Slicing Department.

As a Production Line Technician, you will play a leading part within the team to help achieve each slicing line is operating at the standard operating settings and optimised to achieve maximum yield, minimum giveaway, and target weights and OEE. Within this role you will be in a factory based directly handling cooked meat, processing & slicing the products.

You will:

  • Ensure operatives are trained in the use of the line equipment.
  • Carry out agreed autonomous maintenance in a safe manner, accurately and have deep knowledge of the operation of the line equipment (Settings, parameters etc.)
  • Advise engineering of any instances where standard performance cannot be achieved.
  • Ensure the achievement of the daily production plan and communicate any issues with the relevant person in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all processes and procedures set out by the production management teams and other key areas ensuring food safety, hygiene and quality standards are always achieved.
  • Identify underperforming SKU`s and achieve OEE targets.
  • Keep your workstation clean, tidy and free from debris to reduce the risk of accidents and comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Communication with other disciplines, (Engineering, Technical etc) re the performance of the line equipment.

*Please note that this role may require heavy lifting and the factory is a chilled environment*

What we need from you

Essential

We’re looking for a proactive team player, with strong attention to detail and key time management skills. Experience of machine operation would be valuable, and an understanding and application of Line safety inspections and H&S awareness would be beneficial.

Desirable

Whilst full training will be provided, a sound knowledge of basic food safety would be advantageous.
