As the Process Development Manager you will lead the product and non-product related change at Cranswick Milton Keynes, ensuring launches are completed in the required time frame, are defect free, and change is implemented successfully with thorough communication across the business.

Working with our valued customers such as Tesco, M&S, and Sainsbury's, and our internal stakeholders, you will successfully deliver change whilst adhering to all relevant technical and practice guidelines.

Key accountabilities:

  • To manage the factory scale up stage of new developments in line with site procedures and legal requirements.
  • Ensure all product quality, operational and financial information is clearly captured and communicated post trials.
  • Understand, adhere to, and challenge the critical path of all NPD Projects to ensure an on-time launch.
  • Lead post launch reviews with a view to implementing continuous improvement
  • Play an active role in customer visits / pre-production / launches
  • Lead in audits to demonstrate paperwork and procedure compliance.
  • Running regular meetings where required; recording weekly actions for completion and noting when changes are completed.
  • Refine the launch process and key documentation when required.
  • Match or exceed PLP, SAP and SCP objectives that have been agreed.
  • Participate in existing product development where required.
  • Lead packaging innovation trials and feedback to internal and external stakeholders
  • Control all development expenditure in line with agreed budgets.
  • Ensure programmes of staff performance review, PDP’s, succession planning and training are in place

Knowledge/Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working in faced paced environment with multiple projects happening concurrently.
  • Experience of managing stakeholder relationships to influence project success.
  • Experience working in a gated concept to launch process, leading, and owning the required parts.
  • An excellent working understanding of food manufacturing processes.
  • Experience of leading a successful team, including facilitating performance management, talent management, and engagement initiatives.
  • Experience of working with packaging not limited to plastics, carboard and artwork designs
  • HACCP Level 3
  • Food Safety Level3
  • Effective communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Highly organised and effective time management capability.
  • Able to collaborate with and influence other departments within site and wider Cranswick.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a passion for continuous improvement
