An opportunity has arisen for a Prep Deputy Area Manager on B Shift, to join our team, here at Yorkshire Baker. You will assist the Area Manager in managing the production and staff within the prep operation. This position is responsible for multi-skilled, multi-disciplined teams operating in a fast paced environment and as such communication and organisation is vital.
Main duties include (but not limited to):

- Responsible for supporting the delivery of best quality product and satisfying customer service requirements, creating and promoting a proactive health & Safety
- Liaise with the Area Manager to identify the correct levels of resources and manage the operation within these agreed parameters
- Effectively harness, motivate and develop staff
- To understand departmental capacities and ensure planned outputs are achieved precisely, economically and to the predetermined quality standards. In conjunction with Area Manager, set KPI’s for Team Leaders and ensure standard line and product checks are routinely carried out.
- Develop manufacturing process through delivery of cost savings, efficiency, quality, GMP improvements. Identify improvement opportunities within the production environment and proactively address them.
- Ensure an exceptional level of internal/external customer service through on time deliveries and minimal customer returns
- Routinely checking all aspects of the product process & documentation within the designated area to ensure products are following the appropriate path whilst information / data is recorded in an accurate and timely manner
Candidate requirements:
- Previous supervisory experience within a low risk food operation is essential
- Knowledge of food quality standards
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards
- Strong motivational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Be able to prioritise, manage deadlines and make decisions
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time pressure
- Computer literacy
- Ability to supervise and support leading a team
