Mul­ti-Skilled Engi­neer (4on 4off Days)

We are looking for a motivated, Multi-Skilled Engineer with extensive experience working within food manufacturing environments to join our team at ‘the Gourmet Kitchen’ to work 12 hours 4 on 4 off.

The role will focus on maximising efficiencies by ensuring manufacturing downtime is minimised by continuously striving to improve the equipment to meet the operational needs of the business. As an experienced multi-skilled engineer, you will resolve engineering issues and will be involved in the commissioning and implementation of new equipment at the site.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Maintain machinery and equipment to optimum standards safely with minimum downtime
  • Provide a rapid response to breakdown situations and utilise time effectively to ensure known jobs are completed in a succinct timeframe
  • Ensure the efficient usage of spare parts, consumables, and equipment
  • Maintain open and constructive lines of communication with the Production Department
  • Liaise and escalate with all levels of management across all functions relating to engineering activities.
  • Any administrative duties as required in the fulfilment of the engineering plan
  • To decrease time lost due to breakdowns
  • Satisfactory completion of the Planned Preventive Maintenance schedule
  • Risk assesses all jobs to reduce the risk to health and safety issues in your area
  • Responsible for the ongoing support of daily ‘start-ups’ in the production area
  • Support the learning and development of the apprentices

Requirements, experience and person specification

  • Have experience in chilled food FMCG (preferred), worked within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Be qualified to HNC/NVQ Level 3 in any engineering discipline
  • Be electrically biased or fully multi-skilled
