Hygiene Supervisor
Hygiene Supervisor (Days, 4 on, 4 off)
We are currently recruiting for a Hygiene Supervisor to join our Day Shift Team, here at Yorkshire Baker. The main purpose of the role is to coordinate the hygiene team to safely deliver hygiene procedures which ensure that the manufacturing facility meets regulatory standards and customer’s expectations for hygiene, GMP and Micro control .
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Achieve the targets and maintain the level of hygiene specified by the Hygiene Manager
- Supervise and manage the hygiene operatives and liaise effectively with others in all departments, adopting a positive, approachable can-do attitude
- Supervise, brief and train hygiene operatives in maintaining satisfactory standards of performance, safety, hygiene, PPE and discipline
- Conduct Hygiene audits, completing in-depth micro trend investigation as necessary, to highlight the need for process and scheduling improvement and more effective communication
- Liaise with the site Technical Department regarding daily hygiene audits and micro swab results.
- Ensure that all staff have the relevant PPE & that it is worn & used correctly.
- Plan and co-ordinate the hygiene aspects of external audits, and sign off associated corrective actions, to maintain authorisation from regulators and customers
- Maintain labour within agreed budget levels in accordance with the Hygiene Manager instructions
- Identify hygiene requirements by monitoring changes in the production environment, developing and refining the SOPs and master cleaning schedule, to ensure safe food is delivered in compliance with regulatory, customer codes and identified best practice
- Carry out ATP swabs and chemical titration checks
- Ensure that all staff are present, accounted for & that the shift runs as smoothly as possible
- To inspect lines to ensure cleaning has been carried out correctly and arrange re cleaning when necessary
- Maintain the H&S, welfare of myself and other employees, ensuring all COSHH regulations governing handling, storage and labelling of chemicals are adhered to.
Candidate requirements:
- Previous supervisory experience within a high-risk/low-risk food operation
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Experience of hygiene in an industrial setting
- Be able to prioritise, manage deadlines and make decisions
- Can-do, positive attitude
- Understand the importance of health & safety, hygiene and standards
