What you’ll do

  • Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns across site, identify root causes, and suggest improvements.

  • Deliver preventative maintenance in line with schedules, ensuring quality standards and food safety requirements are met.

  • Carry out electrical/mechanical work including installations, repairs, and modifications.

  • Optimise and adjust process equipment to meet production and quality needs.

  • Record all work in CMMS (Pirana) and ensure hygiene hand-back is completed.

  • Share best practice, mentor colleagues, and contribute to toolbox talks.

  • Work closely with Operations to minimise downtime and disruption.

  • Maintain high standards in workshops, toolboxes, and engineering areas.

  • Supervise contractors when required and support site projects.

What we’re looking for

  • Engineering qualification: BTEC & NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent).

  • Strong experience in electrical fault finding and mechanical fitting.

  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.

  • 18th Edition qualified (or working towards).

  • Competence in automation and controls is a strong advantage.

  • Ability to problem solve, explain technical processes, and mentor others.

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
