Head Tech­ni­cal Man­ag­er (Con­ti­nen­tal Divi­sion Bury & Worsley)

We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join the Cranswick Continental team as Head Technical Manager, supporting our Bury and Worsley sites. This senior leadership role is critical in delivering the technical strategy for site, embedding the Group’s technical strategy, and ensuring strategic alignment across all business units—including our manufacturing partners.

As Head Technical Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial strategic and buying plan, driving consistency, compliance, and best practice across the supply chain. You will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for overseeing all Technical functions at both sites, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, legality, customer satisfaction, and third-party accreditation are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of site-level technical strategy in alignment with Group and divisional goals
  • Drive and maintain exceptional food safety, quality, and compliance standards across both sites
  • Support implementation of commercial strategy through strong supplier and manufacturing engagement.
  • Work closely with our Katsouris business unit based in Wembley and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure all technical requirements meet Cranswick’s policies and external expectations (retailers, customers, certification bodies)
  • Provide leadership and development for site Technical teams, with a strong talent pipeline
  • Represent the Technical function at senior leadership level

About You:

  1. Experienced Technical professional with a strong background in the food industry (minimum of Technical Manager level)
  2. Previous experience working across multiple business units and in Meat, Fish, Poultry (MFP) is essential
  3. Demonstrable experience working with major UK food retailers
  4. High-level qualifications and/or experience in food safety, compliance, and risk management
  5. Strategic mindset with proven project and change management skills
  6. Skilled in team leadership, development, and performance management with a passion for team development.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels
  8. Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
