Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.

Our Preston site is currently undergoing significant expansion; we are recruiting for a demand planner to be responsible for both the short and long-term targeting of a 100% service level whilst keeping with planning KPI’s. The successful candidate will be responsible for balancing customer service excellence, stock turnover, and on-time delivery. Additionally, the demand planner will work closely with sales, supply chain, and production teams to optimise stock levels, minimise stockouts and excess stock, maximising the profitability for site.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

  • Entry of raw feed stocks into demand stock sheets
  • Maintain understanding of base line capacities and to liaise with production management, continuously monitoring performance against plans
  • Daily updating of customers forecasts and challenging forecast accuracy
  • Ordering of 3rd party materials (European meat)
  • Entry of downgrades into weekly tracker
  • Liaise with production planner and planning coordinator to ensure feed stock is available for retail demands
  • Monitoring of daily carcass balance vs retail demand
  • Maintain optimum stock levels for both feed stock and finished pack complying with any technical constraints
  • Review daily service levels and forecast/order accuracy to senior management

What We Look For:

  • Experience in a similar role: Demand Planner / Supply Chain Planner / Demand Analyst
  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Strong level of attention to detail
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and daily KPI’s
  • Good communication skills to support liaising with different departments and senior management
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic working environment with ever changing forecasts/orders in seasonal periods
  • Good organisational skills to manage workload and prioritise key tasks
