Assistant Raw Materials Buyer

Crown Milling, part of the successful Cranswick PLC., is currently seeking an Assistant Raw Material Buyer who will be responsible for the overall administration of the raw material procurement function within the Feed Mill.
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Main duties include:
- Research and analyse agricultural commodity market trends to identify raw material buying opportunities.
- Work closely with the commercial team to develop trading strategies to manage commodity risks.
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and other industry professionals to stay informed about market conditions and prices.
- Ensure the Feed Mills have sufficient raw materials within budget
- Maintaining and reconciling customer raw material books and contracts on the system
What you will need:
- A background in agriculture or an interest in commodity markets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess market data and make quick decisions
- An eye for detail and a natural aptitude with numbers
- Effective communication skills to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Always willing to challenge the status quo
- Willingness to study CIPS course (The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) with support from the business
Pay and benefits:
- Salary – £26000 - £32000 DOE
