Cranswick Convenience Foods Milton Keynes are looking to recruit a Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance & IT team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and maintaining a strong control environment within the ledger.

Key Responsibilities

Administer the Accounts Payable ledger including setting up new suppliers and maintaining accurate supplier information.

Process a high volume of purchase invoices in line with company procedures.

Match delivery notes to GRNs, ensuring full traceability.

Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and PO queries efficiently.

Support the preparation of supplier payment runs.

Complete supplier statement reconciliations and follow up outstanding items.

Support internal users with Navision for purchase orders and invoice processing.

Assist with internal and external audit queries.

Maintain key controls within the Purchase Ledger and champion best practice.

Identify opportunities for process or system improvements.

Ensure Purchase Ledger SOPs are kept up to date.

Support Sales Ledger activity during periods of annual leave.

Carry out additional duties as required by the Purchase Ledger Supervisor or Senior Finance Manager.
About You

Previous experience within a finance or purchase ledger role is desirable.

Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Able to follow processes accurately and efficiently.
