About Us:

Wayland Farms form part of the hugely successful Cranswick PLC, with pig farms across Norfolk and Suffolk.

We are seeking a detailed-orientated and flexible Accounts Assistant to join our small finance team, reporting into and supported by the Management Accountant. Working in a small team of three, this is a key role within the business to ensure all office administration and data recording is completed in a timely and effective manner. The role will encompass a wide range of tasks covering every area of the business.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (However, we are flexible to consider slightly reduced hours for the right candidate)

Job requirements of an Accounts Assistant:

  • Inputting pig movements and sales data into excel spreadsheets to facilitate the completion of the weekly accounts.
  • Weekly feed invoice coding and posting which includes the collation and filing of relevant backing documentation.
  • Coding and posting of other purchase invoices and preparation of weekly supplier payments.
  • Completion of other tasks for the wider office as required
  • Assist with the completion of weekly and monthly reports as required by the management accountant.
  • Provide holiday cover for management accountant and farms administrator
  • Liaising with farms and external businesses via telephone, as well as answering incoming office calls.

What you will need:

  • Experience within an office/administrative role is required. Finance experience is beneficial
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Flexible working approach – prepared to learn all areas of the department and be flexible in what is required each week to maintain the effective functioning of the office.
  • To be a motivated individual who will work seamlessly with office colleagues and the wider farm management team.
  • To use your initiative and deal with issues as and when they arrive.
  • Good excel skills – Knowledge of formulas is not required but the ability to comfortably navigate and enter data into large spreadsheets.

Pay and benefits:

  • Salary – £26,000 - £28,000 FTE (dependant on experience)
