Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2 billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector, and other UK and global customers.
We are currently seeking a supervisor based at our new Preston coldstore. The purpose of this role is to, working under the guidance of the Senior Supervisor, effectively and efficiently ensure products are received, located, and despatched correctly in accordance with site guidelines and customer requirements.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Oversee the loading bay and coldstore; receipt, storage and despatch of products, ensuring stock is located efficiently in store for easy access and stock taking
- Can clearly communicate with peers, Supervisors, Managers and representatives from external bodies
- Ensure all orders are picked and despatched with the correct paperwork in good time for customer receipt, reporting any issues that may arise immediately to Senior Supervisor or Manager
- Liaise with Administration to ensure smooth control of hauliers
- Liaise with hauliers drivers in line with Company Health & Safety procedures
- Instruct and oversee operations staff carrying out cold store duties
- Ensure all MHE and Racking are maintained and any issues are raised
- Support the Stock Controller in stock takes to maintain stock accuracy
- Certify that all required checks are completed to ensure the integrity of the pallet/dolav and product are satisfactory
- Deputise for other supervisors/team members when absent/holidays
- Assist the Supervisors in issuing Team Briefs/Tool Box Talks as necessary
- Develop all Operatives to achieve competency in any task given to them
What We Look For:
- Experience in a similar role (team leader / supervisor / chargehand)
- Experience leading and supervising a team
- Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
- Knowledge of export procedures and product segregation
- Resilience & able to adapt to change
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment to achieve daily targets, in a safe and controlled manner
- Good level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMEX, WAMAS)
