Cranswick Convenience Foods is one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers, known for delivering premium-quality cooked meat products to major retailers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and driven Factory Manager – High Risk & Boxing to lead a critical section of our Milton Keynes operation.
This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a large, multi-shift production environment and play a central role in driving safety, efficiency, and excellence across our slicing, boxing, and despatch operations.
Your Role at a Glance
As Factory Manager, you’ll lead a high-performing team, ensuring that the product journey from cooking to despatch is safe, efficient, and of the highest quality. You’ll set operational strategy, manage large teams, and champion continuous improvement and food safety in line with Cranswick’s values and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of the multi-shift cooked meat production process post-cooking

Manage and inspire a workforce of approximately 400 colleagues through your Section Managers

Deliver on-time, high-quality products within budget and agreed KPI targets

Champion a culture of safety, food compliance, quality, and continuous improvement

Ensure stock control, scanning accuracy, and yield management are optimised

Collaborate with commercial, technical, and QA teams to exceed customer expectations

Ensure all operational standards comply with BRC, customer codes, and internal policies
-
Develop and execute a continuous improvement strategy for long-term success

Drive site-wide talent management, training, succession planning, and recruitment

Deputise for the General Manager when required
What We’re Looking For
-
Proven experience as a Factory Manager or Operations Manager within a food manufacturing environment

Expertise in managing large teams in a fast-paced, high-care or high-risk setting
-
Excellent knowledge of food safety legislation and best practice (Food Safety Level 4 preferred)

Strong track record of implementing successful continuous improvement initiatives

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
-
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to make data-driven decisions

Demonstrated ability to lead a positive, engaged, and high-performing team
