Cranswick Celebrate Yorkshire’s Best Young Chef

Cranswick were pleased to attend the crowning of Yorkshire’s Best Young Chef at The Golden Apron 2017 competition as one of the main event sponsors. Celebrating its fourth year, the awards are run by James Mackenzie, the chef and owner of the Michelin-starred Pipe and Glass, the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and farming company JSR.

Cranswick Gear Up to Support This Year’s Humber Bridge Sportive

Cranswick Ready to Raise 'More Together'

Cranswick plc has signed up to a unique charity project called “More Together” with several other businesses in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The project will challenge Cranswick employees to compete in three different physical activities in a bid to raise money for charitable causes in the upcoming summer months. Whether it is hiking 24 miles across the Yorkshire Three Peaks, battling through 30 obstacles in the Total Warrior challenge or walking 4 miles across the Humber Bridge in fancy dress, there is an opportunity for all employees to get involved.   

Cranswick Announced as a Leader in Farm Animal Welfare

Cranswick plc has been recognised for its leadership in farm animal welfare in a report published yesterday, 23rd January 2017.   The Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW) evaluates the world’s leading food producers, retailers and service companies on their management and reporting on farm animal welfare. At the report’s launch in New York, it was announced that Cranswick plc has attained impressive marks, earning its place in Tier 1 of the industry rankings.  

Cranswick Takes Hull City of Culture on the Road

As one of East Yorkshire’s largest employers, Cranswick plc announced it was strengthening its links to arts and culture in the city by signing up as a City Partner for Hull 2017 UK City of Culture. The Hull based food producer and supplier found its roots in Hull after starting its successful business there over 40 years ago. Today, Cranswick employs over 4,000 people who live in the city and to are keen to support this fantastic initiative. 

Woodall's Recognised As Best In British Charcuterie

Woodall’s, produced by Cranswick plc, has scooped up a Quality Food Award for its Cumberland sausages and three Great Taste Awards for its range of air dried hams and smoked pancetta. The awards, which took place on 10th November at Grosvenor House, were introduced by celebrity chef Simon Rimmer. The prestigious awards showcase the best products in UK groceries in which Woodall’s took the title for ‘Best Sausage’ with its Outdoor Bred British Cumberland Sausage.

IFST Recognise Cranswick in Participation Scheme

Cranswick has been awarded certification for their participation in the IFST Group Membership Scheme. The Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) are the leading independent qualifying body for food professionals in Europe. They are the only professional body in the UK who represent all areas of food science and technology. The institution aims to promote the advancement and application of food science and technology for the benefit, safety and health of the public.

Cranswick Win Award For Best Interactive Team

Cranswick was proud to attend the Yorkshire and Humber Skills Event held at the Elland Road stadium in Leeds on the 19th and 20th of October. The team, who were representing the diverse career prospects within the Food Manufacturing industry, took home the ‘Best Interactive Team’ award. Their enthusiastic demonstrations and engaging activities proved well-received amongst the high school pupils.

Cranswick Manager announced as a finalist in Young Manager of the Year Award

Cranswick are pleased to announce that Lucy Beadle, Agricultural Supply Chain Manager, was a Finalist in the Young Manager of the Year Award at the Meat Management Awards.  Lucy joined Cranswick in 2014 on the Graduate Scheme and now works to support and develop our processes within our Agricultural team.  Lucy completed an agricultural degree at Harper Adams University.  

Cranswick wins 'Training Scheme of the Year'

Cranswick has won the Training Scheme of the Year award at the Meat Management Awards, recognising the success of the Graduate Training Scheme.  The scheme has been running in it’s current form since March 2015  and has been designed to offer graduates a full overview of the Cranswick business.   Miranda Walker, HR Director, commented “this is a fantastic achievement for Cranswick and truly shows our hard work, dedication and commitment to attracting talented graduates into our business.”

Cranswick plc has been announced as headline sponsor of Hull’s Freedom Festival for the next three years. The food producer and supplier, which employs more than 8,000 people in the East Riding, is extending its support of Hull’s biggest arts and culture event after sponsoring the Bridge Stage at the festival last year. Its Chief Executive said the long-term partnership underlined both organisations’ shared ambitions regarding social, cultural and economic regeneration of the region.

Cranswick proud to support new Livestock Innovation Centre

A new £70 million innovation centre will bring together the food industry and academic researchers to transform the productivity of the UK livestock industry.  The Centre of Innovation Excellence in Livestock (CIELivestock) has been allocated £31.7 million funding from the Government’s Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) to set up state-of-the-art facilities across the UK, providing the livestock industry with world-beating access to research.

Cranswick has been named the Winner of Exporter of the Year at the 2016 Meat & Poultry Processing Awards organised by the Meat Trades Journal. Cranswick was shortlisted alongside C&K Meats and the Karro Food Group. The Awards took place on 3rd March 2016 at Radisson Blu Edwardian, Manchester Hotel, where the best in meat processing celebrated their achievements of the last year.

Cranswick has been named as one of the finalists at the 2016 Meat & Poultry Processing Awards organised by the Meat Trades Journal. Cranswick has been shortlisted alongside C&K Meats and the Karro Food Group in the Exporter of the Year category. The final takes place on Thursday 3 March at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Manchester.

Yorkshire’s Best Young Chef Named

A teenage catering student from Selby has been named as Yorkshire’s best young chef and received prizes to create a new food product for ASDA and a work placement with Cranswick. Alongside ASDA, Cranswick is proud to be one of the main sponsors and food suppliers for the Golden Apron 2015 competition, now in its third year. Kurtus Auty, 18, won the Golden Apron 2015 title in a keenly-fought final at the Pipe and Glass Inn at South Dalton, near Beverley this week.
