Team Leader - Further Processing (B Shift)

PERMANENT/FULL TIME 

Monday to Friday & 1 in 4 Saturday working.  Rotational shift pattern 5.30am – 2pm/1.30pm – 10pm

To organise the effective use of labour and resources to achieve the daily production plan. Working in accordance to quality, food hygiene and health and safety standards.

  • Ensure production lines are assembled in full working order in time for production to commence.
  • Communicate daily production targets and priorities to team colleagues.
  • Ensure that team colleagues are ready and able to commence work at the start of shift time.
  • Complete and record machine safety checks, comparing standards against safety checklists issued by the line manager.
  • Ensure accurate completion of departmental paperwork to include yield check calculations, efficiency sheets and attribute sheets etc.
  • Over-see the work of colleagues with regards to quality etc. and take any necessary corrective actions and communicate to the Shift Supervisor or Manager any potential disciplinary issues.
  • Work within food safety and quality specifications and hygiene standards.
  • Act as deputy to other departmental team leaders during absence and holidays.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills / qualifications / attributes: -

Competences:

  • Good basic education and literacy skills, Previous leadership experience
  • Be able to show initiative and good problem solving skills, Reliability and good timekeeping
  • Flexible approach with ability to carry out a wide variety of tasks and adapt to the changing needs of the Company
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Logical and level headed, Good Knowledge of basic food hygiene / health and safety principles.
  • Team Player, lead by example
  • Flexible approach with ability to carry out a wide variety of tasks and adapt to the changing needs of the Company
