Team Leader
B Shift | Team Leader | 4 on, 4 off
Location: Yorkshire Baker, Norton Grove Industrial Estate

We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader on B Shift, working 4 on, 4 off from 6am-6pm, here at Yorkshire Baker.
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the activities of the team to ensure that the product is processed safely, to the agreed quality standards at the correct rate. Reporting to the Area Manager, the Team Leader will ensure that ‘Best Practice’ is delivered in all aspects of work and will lead by example.
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Supervising employees, including line leaders, to ensure the line is running smoothly, efficiently and safely at all times
- Liaise with the Area Manager to ensure suitable labour is in place and ready to work at start of shift
- Provide feedback on the performance, communicate to all direct reports, provide support and lead by example
- To understand hourly performance vs target, identify issues and deliver actions to ensure that performance targets are achieved. Coordinate changeovers and understand Line Balancing. Liaise with Area Manager regarding production issues
- To ensure all colleagues are following the Standard Operating Procedures
- Liaise with QA’s to ensure all paperwork and operational checks are completed to the required standard
- Internal and External Service Levels: Quality, Quantity, Delivery, Minimal Customer Returns, Factory Efficiency, GMP, Staff Training and Performance
Candidate requirements:
- Previous Team Leader experience within a high risk/low risk food operation is essential
- Knowledge of food quality standards
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Be able to prioritise, manage deadlines and make decisions
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time pressure
- Computer literacy
- Ability to lead and develop a team
