Specification Technologist

​An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Specification Technologist to join the Riverside site.

 

The purpose of this role is to be primarily responsible for all Asda retail specification and artwork approval for Preston and Riverside.  In addition, responsible for factory specification and QAS’s, any primal specifications for Riverside and Cold Stores.  To ensure all comply with all quality, legal, integrity and safety standards.

 

Shift pattern: ​Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 17:00

 

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • Writing specifications for retail customers for Preston and Riverside ensuring that information provided is up to date.
  • Liaison with NPD to ensure all information for retail specification is correct and challenged as required.
  • Reviewing retail specifications to ensure they match current artwork and any other changes are captured
  • Writing, reviewing and maintaining the internal specification systems to ensure they reflect customer specifications.
  • Writing, reviewing and maintaining the customer QAS systems to ensure they reflect customer specifications.
  • Writing and reviewing primal customer specifications ensuring that they are up to date at all times.
  • Liaison with the trading teams to ensure all information for primal specifications are correct and challenged as required.
  • Ensuring all specifications are in place, signed and up-to-date for all customers and reviewed every three years
  • Ensuring all products are fully mapped on Authenticate for Preston and Riverside.
  • Approving retail pack copies prior to artwork stages.
  • Reviewing group technical issued approved list to ensure they include all current and upcoming ingredients.
  • Reviewing raw material specifications prior to customer launches and ensuring they are signed off by group technical.
  • Responding to customer alerts on all retailer systems.
  • Completion of customer questionnaires when required.
  • Supporting the Technical team with customer visits / site audits.
  • Covering for the Technical Administrator, Compliance Officer and Specification Technologist at Preston (in part) in their absence.
  • Undertake such ad hoc duties as maybe required to benefit the business.
  • To always act in the best interest of Cranswick Country Foods.

 

Requirements, experience and person specification

  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent level of literacy
