White Rose Farms Ltd are specialists in breeding and rearing pigs to Red Tractor standards. We are part of industry leading food producer Cranswick plc, a progressive FTSE250 Company.

An opportunity has arisen at one of our farm sites in Bedfordshire for a Senior Indoor Pig Stockperson on a breed to finish operation. The operation consists of two modern units with state-of-the-art weaner and farrowing accommodation, plus two liquid fed finishing pig sites. This is a great opportunity for the right person to join our fast paced ever growing business with a bright future.

Main Duties:

  • Working with pigs on an indoor unit to ensure their health and welfare is in accordance with Red Tractor Assured Standards, including: feeding, moving, vaccinating, handing the pigs and artificial insemination, in addition to farrowing house duties and guilt management
  • Be responsible for the cleaning of the sow / guilt yards using specialist equipment
  • Support staff to ensure that the unit is kept clean and tidy at all times and presentable to visitors with regular pressure washing being essential

You will need:

  • Experience with livestock or an agricultural background is essential
  • A keen interest in the pig industry and animal welfare
  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a good work ethic
  • UK driving licence
  • Basic IT skills (desirable)
