Senior National Account Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior National Account Manager to join our team, here at Yorkshire Baker. The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for the management & growth of a portion of the Yorkshire Baker Marks & Spencer business, through first class trading relationships within M&S to achieve budgeted, volume and net sales growth. You will also be the M&S lead for site. This will be delivered through the creation and focused delivery of the annual joint customer business plan in liaison with the customer, NPD & Category Marketing team.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • Weekly tracking, measurement, and evaluation of performance to ensure the plan is delivered
  • Ensure Yorkshire Baker maximises promotional opportunities profitably
  • Deliver supply chain excellence to the customer through close partnerships with the supply chain team, and through effective volume management
  • Accountable for the P&L of M&S across specific categories
  • Ensure the forecast is accurate
  • Ensure any model price changes (e.g. overheads, M&S B2B model) are delivered in a timely manner
  • Ensure costing submissions are accurate and exceed site expectations
  • Identify annual cost out opportunities, aligned with Fortress Factory agreement
  • Can articulate any variances to budget (both positive & negative)
  • Analyses site P&L ('weeklies’) and compares vs costed standards
  • Clear understanding of driving factory efficiencies; focus on maximising lines over 10k units per week
  • Regularly review ongoing product margins and instigate product PIP plans as required
  • Deliver against the sites budget: net sales, volume (packs), and profit before tax
  • Work closely with the innovation and NPD team to ensure new launches minimise bespoke ingredients and processes
  • Work closely with the category team to deliver tangible business wins through excellent insight
  • Communicates effectively across the business and with the customer
  • Oversee delivery of all M&S commercially related projects

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven Senior National Account Manager experience is essential, ideally supplying M&S
  • Highly analytical with results driven mindset and self-motivated ability
  • Well developed commercial acumen and numeracy
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of customer/strategy and the ability to match the needs of both
  • Proven food service background is essential
  • Experience of managing a team
  • A full valid driving license is essential
