Recruit­ment & Engage­ment Officer

Cranswick Gourmet Sausage Co. (Lazenby’s) is our fast-paced sausage facility located in Hull. Using only the best cuts of British pork, fresh herbs and spices, Cranswick are the UK’s leading producer of gourmet sausages and burgers, supplying major retailers and foodservice outlets alike.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual, who can demonstrate their ability to find, attract, hire new employees to fill open positions across all Departments at Cranswick Gourmet Sausage and Cranswick Gourmet Kitchen.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to create job adverts for current openings
  • Source applicants through various methods including advertising, job sites, career fairs, online platforms, etc.
  • Screen candidates by reviewing CVs and job applications, perform phone screenings and update candidates on hiring processes
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews cooperatively with hiring managers (send calendar invite to managers/ invite candidates to interviews by text messages and emails)
  • Conduct interviews, when necessary, required, and appropriate (ex. during peak periods)
  • Pass a fully completed packs of documents (interview notes, IDs, CVs, etc.) to HR Admin to create the required documentation
  • Facilitate pre-employment testing where necessary
  • RTW check and Pre/Settlement check and track
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all systems and processes for the advertisement of roles including but not limited to Internal and external Cranswick sites, Indeed, CV Library, Facebook, etc.
  • Any other activities relating to the needs of the local HR team as directed by the HR Manager
  • Exploit innovative solutions across the group and look for Synergy across all three sites located at Sutton Fields and the wider business
  • Provide regular reports and KPI’s on recruitment projects and status against targets

Requirements, experience and person specification:

  • A Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in recruitment
  • Previous experience in working within an FMCG environment desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude with excellent organisational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
  • Evidenced experience in building effective relationships at all levels within a business
  • Innovative with a proven track record of working proactively
  • Energy, execution, and accountability in all activities
  • Flexible to meet business needs
  • Be conversant with four strategic pillars (QVIP). Champion this within the department and the wider site
