Nation­al Account Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a National Account Manager to provide the effective, profitable and progressive commercial management for key retail accounts within convenience cooked meats business. This will include the day to day responsibility for the profitable growth of our key retail accounts as well as the development of new business for these accounts within Cranswick Convenience Foods Barnsley.

This is a permanent position working full time Monday - Friday.

This will involve working closely with all departments especially NPD, Marketing and Site Operations, whilst engaging multi-site teams.

Main duties include:

• To provide day to day management of selected retail account businesses, and maximise profitable sales growth across the categories of responsibility

• Monitor and update the costings on an ongoing basis and identify opportunities for increased profit

• Deliver initiatives in line with key customer(s) and Cranswick business strategy pillars through our teams

• Drive NPD and EPD to increase profit and sales to both Cranswick and the customer

• Drive the promotional plan for increased sales

• Understand & interpret site financials versus budget and scrutinize P&L

• Manage and administer open book costing model for respective areas

• Working with our forecasting and planning teams to ensure daily & future orders are correct and managed effectively

• Understand and drive supply chain strategy areas and identify opportunities for cost removal

• Co-ordinate and deliver customer meetings and performance reviews

• Maintain regular contact with buyers and trading assistances to develop our business relationships

• Ensure customer KPI’s are maintained to a high standard given normal circumstances

• Have good understanding and awareness of factory processes, carcass utilisation and valuations

Candidate requirements include:

• Chilled and retail experience required

• Good understanding of the sales, marketing and NPD process

• Strong communication, interaction & negotiation skills

• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Proactive and flexible in working approach

• PC literate in office suite

• Good presentation skills
