Area Leader in Low Risk Evening Shift
Cranswick Gourmet Kitchen is looking to grow our team and recruit an Area Leader to assist in the day to day running of the Evening shift Production.
The ideal candidate would be reliable, show initiative and have accuracy with excellent attention to detail. They will be responsible for completing verification checks and being able to operate and understand all machinery, ensuring high quality products are being continuously produced.
You need to be hands-on, motivated and driven. Your remit is to support your peers on the journey to drive performance and improve production to achieve and surpass targets.
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday; 15:00-23:30 (one 30min unpaid break)
Pay Rate: £18.51 per hour
Main Accountabilities:
- Deliver the daily production plan on time and in full, ensuring high quality standards are implemented & maintained
- Effective management of all resources in Area to achieve operational KPIs
- Understand the operation of all machinery used in a given area and ensure optimum setup to maximise efficiency and achieve target performance
- Work as part of a team to identify areas of opportunity or support needed and liaise with management where appropriate to drive continuous improvement
- Remain level-headed, logical and approachable with all colleagues and customers
- Demonstrate flexibility by achieving a wide variety of production tasks across area of responsibility
- Recognize the importance of verification checks and complete in a timely manner
- Liaise closely with other departments to problem solve and establish agreed solutions
- Ensure compliance with key company and customer requirements and assist in audits
- Work in partnership with the wider team to be part of site culture which drives food safety, H&S, ethical, environmental and energy behaviours
- Assist in the mentoring and development of the team
- Safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the team

The successful candidate will have:
- Prior experience in the Food Industry, in a Leading Team capacity
- Results focused and be able to work to KPIs
- Must be able to make key decisions and remain calm under pressure
- Flexible to meet business needs at times where required
- Ability to use IT systems, and be comfortable with running and understanding a paperless factory
- Conscientious, enthusiastic and willingness towards meeting deadlines
- Be able to show initiative and good problem solving skills
- Good knowledge of basic food hygiene and health & safety principles
- Team player who can challenge peers, communicate effectively at all levels, work collaboratively
