Line Lead­ers CPM

​Cranswick Country Foods is one of the largest pork processors in the UK, dealing with multiple customers, the foodservice sector and further processors. An exciting new opportunity has arisen for Line Leader to join the busy Retail team at the Preston site.

Shift pattern: 5:30am – 18:00pm 4 On / 4 Off

DAYS - A SHIFT x1 and B SHIFT x1

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • To be responsible for the attainment of production targets as directed by the Shift Manager / Retail Manager
  • Maximizing efficiencies of all available resource and ensuring BAT at all times, or if this is not possible, reported to the relevant person in a timely manner
  • Pre-operational startup checks; including controlled documents, equipment check sheets, fabrication sheets, hygiene standards and line labour management
  • To maintain up-to-date knowledge of all product specifications and ensure all products produced from your area are in line with customer specifications
  • Train and support Delford Operatives to achieve succession in their role
  • Liaise with the Delford Operatives and QA’s to ensure all WIP documentation and operational checks are completed to the required standard
  • Acting as a product specific expert where appropriate, working with other departments and disciplines in a manner to share and train own knowledge
  • Understand hourly performance vs target, identify issues and deliver actions to ensure that performance targets are achieved
  • Comprehension of position vs plan and be looking ahead to ensure that correct people, equipment and materials are available for the plan to be delivered
  • Liaise with other Line Leaders / Team Leaders / Managers in service departments regarding any potential production and material issues
  • Ensure management of line break times. Inform the Shift Manager of individuals breaching break limits and assist in investigations where necessary
  • Ensure accurate recording of yield, labour, efficiencies, waste and other key metrics, as agreed by your line Manager and maintain a culture of awareness as to why this is important and apply corrective action
  • Ensure that equipment is used safely and all defects are promptly reported to the Shift Manager
  • Preparing Proseal film and the line for startup in the morning
  • Preparing for product change over’s in advance thus reducing downtime
  • Support colleagues during line breakdowns or hygiene control checks. complete control help pack etc
  • Cross functional training of all CPM lines and products to ensure support of colleagues when required
  • Be familiar with quality and customer specifications using the on the line QAS
  • Be familiar with expected packs per minute and staff manning number for each product produced on the line.
  • Record fabrication issues on a daily basis
  • Correctly identify all ‘Work in Progress’, ‘Residuals’ and packs from ‘End of Production runs’ and process in accordance with all Technical specifications and requirements and Safety regulations
