Intake QA Technician

Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Intake QA Technician to join the Technical team. Duties will include monitoring quality system compliance and effectiveness through planned audits and independent process control checks to ensure that our products comply with food safety legislation, meet the technical and quality specification and are manufactured at best cost.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • Quality Checks on all raw materials coming into site against their approved specificiation
  • Completing the appropriate paperwork
  • Conducting label / paperwork checks to make sure all details of incommming material are to the correct standard
  • Conducting temperature checks on product / transport veichles.
  • Ensure the timely collection of routine micro samples of incoming meat
  • Conducting GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) audits to ensure any corrective actions required are communicated and completed in a timely manner
  • Create and monitor supplier non-conformances through the internal systems.
  • Conducting equipment checks to ensure any damaged or missing equipment is reported to the relevant departments
  • ‘Walking the factory floor’ to identify any issues ahead of them arising and taking appropriate action. Dealing with issues as and when required
  • Understands the implications of food safety failures and report any deviations to the Technical Management team.
  • Identifies possible changes to the quality system to improve food safety or quality
  • Verficiation checks of scales to ensure accuracy

Requirements, experience and person specification:

  • Understanding of Microbiology / Chemistry
  • Proven experience in a specification role, ideally in a high risk chilled production environment.
  • Understanding of HACCP
  • Extensive knowledge of Food legislation, safety and quality.
  • Self-motivated and responsible for time management.
  • A users knowledge of standard software systems.
