Hygiene Super­vi­sor

We are looking for a well organised and motivational person ideally, with previous experience within food manufacturing, however full and comprehensive on the job training will be given so this is not essential.

You will be working directly with the Hygiene Manager, providing key support and cover the role when he is on leave. You will be directly responsible for the Team Leaders and Operatives covering all areas of Hygiene.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

  • You must have a good understanding of food safety within production.
  • Strong track record in leading and training hygiene teams
  • Experience in implementing and managing hygiene schedules
  • Authority on hygiene/GMP related CCP’s
  • Trained auditor and trainer would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of products & processes to ensure hygiene/cleaning standards are appropriately applied. Application of cleaning & disinfection techniques
  • Good understanding of significance of pathogen controls and preventive measures
  • Ability to react to hygiene indicators/trends before a quality failure occurs
  • Effective communicator & trainer
  • Powers of persuasion and the ability to train and develop colleagues throughout the site is essential
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Be able to prioritise, manage deadlines and make decisions.
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to maintain records and write reports
  • Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.
  • Accident investigation training.
  • Understanding and application of Line safety inspections
  • Root cause analysis training
  • Experience of running a team, ideally within food production and hygiene
  • Experience in chemical handling and food safety procedures
  • Good IT skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Certification:

  • NVQ Level 2 and above
  • RSH / IEHO Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Training Certificates in: The Management of cleaning and disinfection, Chemical Safety and Hygiene, COSHH Regulations and assessment.
  • Route Cause Analysis
  • Auditing
  • IOSH Health & Safety
  • Health & Safety at Work (Level 2)
  • Food Safety Certificate (Level 3)
  • CIH training certificate (Basic)
  • NVQ Management Certificate(level2)
  • Group and site induction
  • Level 3 H&S awareness.
