About the Role

As Factory Standards Manager, you will lead the Quality Assurance function and champion world-class standards across site. You’ll play a critical role in protecting product safety, strengthening technical compliance, and embedding a positive food safety culture across all departments.

You will work collaboratively with our wider Technical and Operations teams—part of a 40-person strong technical function—to ensure the site remains audit-ready every day, meets retailer expectations, and continuously improves performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ensuring full compliance with the Cranswick Manufacturing Standard, BRCGS Food Safety requirements, and retailer Codes of Practice

  • Leading corrective actions, root cause analysis and preventative measures to eliminate non-conformances

  • Driving site food safety culture and improving KPI performance

  • Supporting and leading customer and third-party audits, ensuring the site is always “audit ready”

  • Working with cross-functional teams to reduce complaints and non-conformances

  • Leading key site programmes including foreign body management and listeria management

  • Managing pest control, glass & hard plastic audits, and internal technical audit systems

  • Using continuous improvement tools to drive operational and standards improvements

  • Participating in the Technical on-call rota and supporting wider technical initiatives

Skills & Experience You’ll Bring

  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing standards, BRCGS, and major retailer Codes of Practice (Tesco, M&S)

  • Solid knowledge of listeria and allergen management

  • Proven experience in a Senior QA, Compliance, or similar technical role

  • Confident in handling foreign body investigations and detailed root cause analysis

  • Strong track record of resolving complex non-conformances to deadline

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and a flexible, proactive mindset
