An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager to join our team here at Yorkshire Baker on shift B. The main purpose of this role is to provide direction and support for a team of multi-skilled engineers to achieve the maintenance of the plant and machinery across the site.
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Maintaining an environment and culture of safe working practices understood and maintained within the site project engineering function, encompassing compliance at all times
- Ensure a Planned Preventative Maintenance System is adhered to
- Maintaining effective engineering management reporting systems are followed through
- Timely and cost-efficient completion of engineering projects
- Achievement of agreed KPI’s including PPM, downtime, RMT, PUWER assessments completed on time as well as projects & critical path adherence
- Training and development of engineering staff
- Ensure engineering standards & procedures are followed across all areas: Staff, Colleagues, Contractors, Suppliers & Equipment
- Ensure adequate Engineering cover is always provided, including production startup
- Establishing and maintaining a constructive relationship with all internal departments and external contacts
- Provision of an efficient, courteous and responsive engineering department with a ‘can do’ approach to work
Candidate requirements:
- Strong Engineering background, ideally with nationally recognised qualification
- Level 2 Food Safety and Health & Safety qualification preferred
- A working knowledge of HACCP and GMP
- The ability to be able to manage a team of engineers of various disciplines
- Experience and knowledge of the relevant legislative bodies and instruments is essential
- Ability to handle, communicate and implement change
- Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines as well as prioritising their workload
- Effective communicator with a calm and diplomatic attitude
