CPM Pro­duc­tion Operative

​An exciting new opportunity has arisen for Production Operatives to join the Preston site.

Shift pattern: 6.15 - 18.00

The purpose of the role is to assist Line Leaders in ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day operations in order to fulfil business and department targets, while maintaining product safety and quality standards.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • Under the guidance of the Shift Managers and Line Leaders, ensure that each product specification is followed and any anomalies are reported immediately
  • To ensure that any production targets set by the Shift Manager and Line Leader are met; or if this is not possible, shortfalls are reported to the relevant person in a timely manner
  • To maintain a clean and tidy area meeting both safety and hygiene regulations of the site
  • To wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times within the Production Area
  • Carry out training commensurate with the area including regular refresher/update training as and when required
  • To report any equipment defects immediately to the Shift Manager or Line Leader
  • To behave in a safe and appropriate manner at all times
  • To assist during internal / external audits as required
  • Adhere to all company rules and policies
  • To maintain high levels of work performance including attendance, timekeeping etc
  • Liaise with colleagues in other departments to ensure the throughput of all products in a timely and efficient manner
  • Contribute to KPIs in quality, health, safety and environment, yields and customer service
  • Highlight areas of improvement
  • Ensure that all statutory (industry guidelines), legal, food safety & customer requirements are met
  • Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications and other paperwork in your department
  • Understand relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department
  • Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
  • Respect and honour the sentiment of the Cranswick ethical policies and codes of conduct when interacting with colleagues
  • Attend required training in line with current legislation, Health and Safety guidelines and changing departmental operations

Requirements, experience and person specification:

  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (advantageous)
  • Understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Awareness of customer standards
  • Ability to meet job requirements
