Chief Engineer

Location
Cranswick Convenience Foods, Hull

40 hrs per week Monday – Friday
Core Hours: 8am – 5pm

Cranswick demands that it has the best facilities and equipment in the market and this expectation sets the main demands of this role:

  • To devise and implement a long term strategy for the development of the facility, assets and supporting systems to ensure they are fit for purpose as the business evolves
  • Planning of budgets and long term capital expenditure
  • To lead the Engineering function in the day-to-day maintenance of the facilities, assets and associated systems and ensure optimum use of site resources at all times

The successful candidate will have proven experience on managing teams in a 24/7 working environment. They will also be able to clearly demonstrate the ability to think strategically and implement long term plans.  Familiarity with business processes outside of the core is essential, in particular Operations, Process Development, Technical and Innovation.

The Person

  • Experience of managing contractors and other suppliers is required
  • Extensive experience of setting budgets and maintaining budgetary control
  • Time served or formal education (equivalent to degree level) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience of managing major machinery capital expenditure projects required, managing major civil projects in addition is preferred
