"I was hired within two weeks of applying for an apprenticeship. Eager to learn a new trade and skills, I quickly developed my confidence in butchery. Any queries I had about the course, the meat industry, or the work I was doing were always welcomed and answered by my trainers and tutors.
My role involves processing porcine primals, which means I bone out, seam and cut the primals to meet our customers’ orders and specifications. All skills that I’ve developed within the last 18 months and take great pride in.
There have been many highlights since starting with Cranswick, including the high praise I’ve received, including job offers from within the company to further my career – as well as being nominated for awards for best meat processing apprentice.
The past 18 months has been an amazing learning curve where I’ve learnt new skills and knowledge that will never leave me, ensuring I’m ever employable."
